National Yo-Yo Day honors the birthday of Donald F. Duncan Sr., even though his birthday was June 8th. It has been celebrated on June 6th since 1990.
Daniel Volk, a former yo-yo demonstrator and employee of the Duncan Toy Company, established the holiday.
